Windows Keyboard Shortcuts

Here is a small list of one of the most important shortcuts that a Windows User should be aware of and use. It may take just a few days to get used to it, but in a long run will save a significant amount of time.

WARNING: be very cautious when you use shortcuts, some of these can easily delete files and it'll be a pain to get it back. DO NOT attempt these techniques if you're not comfortable.

BASIC COPY / DELETE / PASTE

Here we go, these will work on Files, Folders and Text:

SELECT:

  • First step is to via mouse or / and keyboard one or multiple files

MOVING: Eliminated the need to go through 2 seprate operations COPYING and then DELETING.

  • CTRL+X: will grey out a file or if it's a text it'll temporarily erase and if followed by CTRL+V will move to a new location

COPYING:

  • CTRL+C

PASTING:

  • CTRL+V

DELETING:

  • DELETE key

BASIC SEARCHING within the text and on the computer

Find text within a document, internet website, email, etc..

FIND / SEARCH:

  • CTRL+F (Text Input usually comes up to enter text) or F3 key it'll bring up similar box
